Wearable Thermoelectric Power Systems

Used a 3.3V integrated circuit voltage regulator to charge and discharge capacitors, demonstrating the ability of low-power energy harvesters to act as power supplies; presented findings as a research poster. Took the lead role in printed circuit board fabrication. Currently researching wearable thermoelectric-powered electrocardiographs for use in medical environments.

Published as: "Utilization of Commercial Peltier Thermoelectric Generators for Continuous Wearable Device Use," Oxford Journal of Student Scholarship, Jun 2026. Tested commercial-grade Peltier TEGs for on-body temperature differentials, finding no significant effect from adding more TEGs in series but a significant improvement from adding heat sinks. Research poster: Modulation of Electrical Transport and Structural Properties of CaMnO3 Epitaxial Thin Films
Poster presented at Towson University — view full PDF

Calcium Manganese Oxide Thin Films

Created calcium manganese oxide thin films using pulsed laser deposition to enhance electronic performance, then fluorinated the films using spin-coating in a clean room to maintain material properties. Used X-ray diffraction and four-probe resistance measurement to characterize resistance and crystalline structure, and presented findings as a research poster to the research team.

Exoplanet Light Curve Validation (TOI 5868.01)

Used Python (Jupyter Notebook) and AstroImageJ to analyze light curve data from the George Mason University Observatory on candidate exoplanet TOI 5868.01, comparing ground-based observations with James Webb Space Telescope data to validate a predicted transit. Advised by Professor Peter Plavchan.

Published as: "Ground-Based Light Curve Follow-Up Validation Observations of TESS Object of Interest (TOI) 5868.01," George Mason MARS Repository, Aug 2024. Concluded a high likelihood that TOI 5868.01 is a genuine exoplanet, while noting further work is needed to rule out a false positive. Read the publication →
